  1. can you be a bit more specific?

    is the network local? like a home/work network, or can you physically see the machine?

    or are you talking more about a WAN/the internet?
  2. For Windows xp:
    Press the Windows Key
    click the Run command
    Type CMD in the black box
    Type tracert www.msn.com in the big black box

    The information that appears includes the ip addresses of every server between your computer and the msn computer. The www.zzz.com can be any computer that you want. The ip address will change as the route through the internet changes.
