Their performance is the same. The HD5770 has better overclockability, runs cooler, and is smaller.

I think the 5770 is a slightly better buy. A little better options and better cooling.

And 50$ less, and DX 11, and a bit faster.

So recapp.

50$ Cheaper.

Less Power.

Less heat.

Better OC.

DX 11.

A bit faster.

Yep.

Your going to have to show proof and links for your claims of the 5770 being
faster and overclocking better. The gtx 260 overclocks very well and TH did
a article on it , where it competed against the GTX 275, when o/c.
The GTX 260 beat the 5770 in almost every game in this review http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446...
and also was quieter !
ATI responded by bringing the 5770 in at a great price point, and the market has responded by raising the cost of the GTX 260.
The better deal is the 5770 and it comes with dx11, a plus.
If you could get a gtx 260 at a bargain price ? You still would not have dx11 ? So I don't know.

Yes for both cards, at least its proof. Not just random statements. I'm sorry if you have newer articles with direct comparisons, lets see them. The 5770 is not faster , on any day of the week than the gtx 260. In fact the 120 dollar gts 250 is just under it in performance.

Heres another web site that tested a range of cards in Jan/10 http://guru3d.com/article/his-radeon-hd-5750-iceq-revie...
same results.
This is all academic. There is great selection of 5770's at around 170.00, there is almost NO gtx 260's available. So you might end up with a model not of your liking regarding cooling, warranty. You can get all that with the 5770. So the battle is over for me here :)

260 is more powerful 5770 will overclock better and yet not be as fast
yet is still the better option

BUT
the 120 dollar gts 250 is just under it in performance. couldnt be further from the truth this card will loose to the 4850 time and time again.

plus I've used them both and I assure you they do not directly compare

xfx 4770, your borderline with your psu. I imagine like the rest of us , money is tight ?
You need to get 4g(total) of ram. And your resolution is not that demanding. Get the 100 dollar card, it will give you a great gaming experience in dx10/9 games.

HD5750 would be good, but only if you can find it for under $110.

Newegg marked a powercolor 5750 for 69.99 for a while on Friday, I imagine it was a mistake. It was listed as out of stock, as word spread. But was back in at its 'normal' price yesterday.

The 4870 ties the 5770, and the 4870>GTX 260.

I think to 550W psu. Then the performance will satisfy me in 5770? 2 gb ram it'll take more anyway. How do you think the system would be like this?

Good ! Sky is the limit, you have a cpu , that will not bottleneck anything, basically.
What you can afford ? The 5770 is a good choice for its price. I would add 2gb ram and look for a sale on a psu.
