Mp3 connects to laptop but files don't show up when i'm finished

i have a sony walkman and my laptop uses windows xp. when i plug it into my laptop everything shows up and i am seemingly able to add files, however, when i go to take it out firstly it won't show up in removable devices and so i then have to just take it out but then none of the files i put on it are on. plz help, need answer soon, thanks.

the problem is that you are not safely removing the usb device and the data is not getting written to it. you must safely remove the drive so that the data is written to the drive. you can also disable the delayed write feature on that device. see google on how to do that.
