Remap USB port to LPT

Hello,

I have a software that runs off a parallel port dongle. I recently got a new laptop that does not have a parallel port and it runs win 7. I bought a USB to parallel port cable, but it supports only printers. How can I make the software recognize the dongle?

I have run into the same issue. Any help on this? The device comes up as a USB human interface device. I need to connect to an LPT port to write my data.
