Install windows 7 to SSD

I'm installing Win 7 to a new SSD. I boot from install DVD and it takes FOR EVER and doesn't seem to be doing anything. Is this right?

I assume a windows 64bit version?
Yes something about the installer that makes you wait forever.
It took me about 1 hour to complete the whole process. After that I just make backups now.
