Hey Gurus,

I need some advice on what I should do. I paid $139 for a Hanns·G Hi-221DPB Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor. It has been under a year and there is a horizontal line that runs from towards the top to towards the bottom of the screen. I mainly see it on my dark background wallpaper...sometimes barely noticeable, sometimes very noticeable. I could RMA it costing 1)$23 in shipping and get a refurbished, not new, monitor of the same model. I was also given the option to pay the difference between $139 and the cost of these next models...I'm assuming also plus the $23 to return my current monitor.

The monitors price are listed as follows:

2)HH251HPB- $239.99 (-$139+$23) w/ new warranty)=$123.99 total, w/ old warranty=$93.69

3)HH231HPB $169.99 (-$139+$23) w/ new warranty=$53.99 total, w/ old warranty=$44.69

4)HF259HPB- $299.99 (-$139+$23) w/ new warranty=$183.99 total, w/ old warranty=$135.69

5)HF257HPB- $239.99 (-$139+$23) w/ new warranty)=$123.99 total, w/ old warranty=$93.69

"I would subtract the amount paid for the monitor from the actual price listed above. 30% would be deducted off the price difference if you want to still go by original warranty on pop. If you want to go by the warranty from the date new monitor is received then the full price difference would have to be paid."

My question to you guys is...which of my options represents the most value? (out of options 1-5) I would have another option in a few months. I play poker online and should be able to get LG W2753V-PF Black 27" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Full HD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor using frequent player points. (not sure on the shipping cost + I would still be stuck with the lines on current monitor used for my 2nd computer)

Help? What would you guys do?

I did that test. I also tested a different monitor on my pc. I also tested that different monitor with this monitor's cable and power cords. All results point to my current monitor being the issue.

Would get option 1 if it was me.

That or just dealing with it was what I was leaning towards. Doesn't really seem like there is a good way to win here.
