Ok
Last night my friend told me to download HD tunes to check the transfer rate of my HD's.
I'm editing a movie has over 2,000 media clips in it so its the bottle neck on my pc.
I have 2x hds stripped and 1x 2tb HD but the 2tb seems to run faster on the test.

A: I have raid stripped 2x Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache - OEM, says the transfer rate high end is 100mb.
Automatically I though it should be 300mb was its a sata 2 cable and 600mb for sata 3.
But not looking at HD charts I see 200mb is on the high end unless its SSD.

My other HD is Samsung HD204UI Spinpoint F4 2TB Hard Drive SATA2 5400RPM 32tbs runs at 160mb thsi is where im puzzled it lower rpm but faster transfer rate.

Question.
1: How come the 2x HDs are running at 100mbs? i'd have thought if they where stripped they'd run at a hd speed plus a half.
2: So does this mean my samsung F4 running at 160mb would be better then the raid?
3: Can I copy the stripped raid 2x HD onto one HD.

pc is
6 core amd
16gb ram
StarTech 3.5" eSATA RAID External Hard Drive Enclosure Hi-Speed USB and SATAII
Geforce 285
Samsung HD204UI Spinpoint F4 2TB Hard Drive SATA 5400RPM
In raid 2x Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache - OEM
Win 7

THanks

I had the same problem with a MSI MOBO!!!!

I was running raid 0 and it was going slow... i changed it to run just a single drive and it runs the same speed.

I never could figure out what happened and just sprung for a SSD....

I know this does not help but you are not alone. :(
