Hi guys, I have been having concerns about the compatiblity of my current motherboard if I bought a new CPU.

My mother Board is the ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe AI lifestyle. I was thinking of the Phenom 2 X6 core 1090T 3.2 GHZ.

Will I have any troubles running that CPU with my current motherboard, or will I have to upgrade that as well

Thanks guys! Excited to be on the board. You guys seem to know your stuff!

Cheers,

Kosta.

That motherboard uses the AM2+ socket; the Phenom 2 requires an AM3 socket. You'll need to upgrade your motherboard.

Would my ASUS M3A32-MVP DELUXE AI lifestyle motherboard type be able to support the AMD Phenom 2 x4core 3.4GHZ 965 Black Edtion?

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ESv3v4AmCdP1GdRp&...

finally got in, looks like you can support up to the Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHZ
but unfortunately you cannot support x6

ps when on the forums its best to wait for someone with a medal to reply to your inquiry, otherwise you could be told complete garbage by someone like pyroflea who attempts to council people on issues he knows nothing about
