Asus P8P67 Pro To update Bios or not???

Hello,
I would like to know what owners of the Board would recommend, my current bios is 402 and it works fine. I have no problems at all. But I was wondering should I go and upgrade the bios to the newest one. I did read around and some people said it killed their board once they updated. So I am a little iffy about it. Should I touch my bios when it runs fine, no errors....

if you do update your bios, can you downgrade it after if you need to?
