Hello,
I recently bought a gateway LX6200-1 with an AMD phenom quad core. The problem is that i have a ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card and it sucks. My inexperience with graphics cards has lead to a fear of frying my computer with too strong a graphics card. Can someone please tell me what graphics card would be the best to use on my computer....specificly for MMORPG's.

What kind of wattage does the power supply put out? Depending on that and whether or not you play alot of games, I'd recommend anything in the Radeon 5k series. If you are a big gamer, I'd go with a 5850 or 5870, or if not that extreme, perhaps a 5770.

According to this http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/LX/LX6200/LX6200sp2.sht... you have either a 400 or 500watt PSU. You should be able to run a HD5770 on that but you can get away with cheaper card for MMORPG's. If you give us a budget we can point you in the right direction.

My price range is around 300 dollars. I play Warhammer online alot and i am having problems. It was suggested to i use a Gigbyte GV-N26s0-8961 Geforce GTX 260 896MB. Is that a safe bet or should i go with a Radeon card. Your response would be greatly appreciated.

A std HD5770 is on level with GTX260 so which one does not really matters just as long it has 1GB memory. It handles most games very well up to 1920 x 1080 resolution.

My power supply should support that? Thanks for the help by the way. I saw several versions of the 1GB HD5770....any one of them will do?

Based on the specs from Gateway the PSU is either 400 or 500 Watts. It is a new computer so I am presuming the a lot of the wattage is on the +12 volt rail and since the card is not power hungry I have every reason to believe it will run with out a problem. Any one of those cards is fine whether you select by best price, best warranty or best looking cooler they all work.
