Hello, I have an Emachines PC I bought from Wal-Mart about ~2 years ago.

Recently my hard drive crashed and I threw it away, now I have 2 SATA drives and have them connected to the Motherboard however when I enter BIOS they do not come up. I really don't know what to do I have a copy of Windows XP to install VIA USB and it goes through the set up but no Hard Drives come up to put it on.

Any help please!?

Yes, a friend let me use his HDD to test this and it detected his. I am at a stalemate here, and I don't know if what I am doing is right but I read somewhere about an OEM preventing the new harddrive from being detected?

I've never heard of that and if that was true everyone would boycott that brand. anyway your motherboard may have multiple SATA connectors on different controllers. Make sure you plug the hard disk into SATA0 and that the sata controller is enabled in the bios. then see if it is detected on bootup.
