Crossfire MOBO help

i have been reading a bit on mobo's for my new build i for shure want to crossfire but some mobo's only have x16 on one of the PICE slots and when you put 2 gpu's in the slots drop to x8/x8 i was wondering if x16/x16 is that much better than x8/x8

The difference between 16x/16x and 8x/8x performance is minimal, a few percent with a 5850. Now if you intend to run something stronger like a 5970 or 4870x2s they will use a bit more bandwidth and will get bottlenecked a bit more but for the most part 8x is more than enough bandwidth for a card.
