Hello all,

Am a VFX artist my main usage would be on aftereffects and some amount of 3dsmax and photoshop with sometimes on adobe premiere, but most of the time i would be working on after effects.I have done some R&D regarding the system.I would be working on HD resolution.

But i have read somewhere that instead of a highend GPU invest in i7 extreme and just take a basic GPU.But can i do that coz can't invest too much on both.

I need to buy within this week.

Welcome to the forum. There's a Build Advice form in my signature which you may want to fill out, as well. But from the looks of things, I think you would be fine with a single i7 930 overclocked, with good cooling, 12GB of RAM, and maybe a 260.

so can you suggest good cooling? whats a 260?

Reply to astrol30

By cooling I just meant a good case Antec 900, 902 or Cooler Master 922, Storm Scout, etc. And a good HSF for the processor like this one

Edit: Sorry, a 260 is the GTX 260 graphics card from NVidia
