CPU Upgrade in Compaq Evo D510

Good day Guys

I've got a Compaq Evo D510. I currently use a P4 3.0GHZ processor running at 1.5GHZ as a result of it having to run it with a 533mhz fsb.

I'd like to upgrade this to a 3.06GHZ, L1256kb, 533mhz Celeron D but my screen stays black and doesn't boot. I've tried using a bigger power supply as well as upgrading my bios to ver. 3.18 which is the manufactures latest.

Anything else I could try or is this processor just not supported by my motherboard?

Your bios probably doesn't support the Celeron,

Choose your model, then XP as o/s and then BIOS, but I think your out of luck.
