P55, P67, X58, Oh my!

Good afternoon, folks!

I'm an intense gamer looking for advice on mobos. I only allow myself to build a PC every 2 years so it always seems like I'm starting from scratch.

In trying to select a motherboard, I'm stuck between the three intel options available. Here's what I'm looking to do:

gskill quad channel 16GB (mostly because I don't want to upgrade later or I'd get the 12gb)
120gb 6GB/sec SSD
1tb WD 6GB/sec storage
GTX 580

I'll only be using a single card for now but I'd like to option to SLI in the future, I think.

My overclocking expectiation is very modest. I'm getting the K processor for some simple multipliers but I won't be tinkering with every last bit of my system trying to squeeze 17MHz out of it.

I'm willing to go up to $400 if I have to but only if it's worth it for gaming.

I bow to your far superior expertise :)

Thanks in advance!

  1. With your selection of CPU the option is narrowed down to P67. Since you want to SLI your GTX580 later then http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131694
