i can't seem to make email arrival sounds under Windows XP Pro -
i have Outlook 2003 configured to produce sound when an new email arrives -
Tools-Options-Preferences-EmailOptions-AdvancedEmailOptions-"Play a sound"
box
is checked, as is DisplayDesktopAlert.
however, sound is never played when new email arrives.
my XP machine is producing sound for other software and a sample of the
sound i chose for email arrival, is acceptable, ie
ControlPanel-SoundsandAudioDevicesProperties-Sounds-ProgramEvents-
NewMail Notification-Sounds(chimes), dropdownbox does give right sound!
What am I doing wrong? Does Windows XP Pro have another sound configuration
switch that should be changed?
