Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk Error

Hello everyone,

I'm currently trying to revive an old rig of mine but I encountered a problem stated on the thread title. Also, when I checked the BIOS, the HDD is no longer recognized. I've tried unplugging the IDE and power cable of the hard drive to no avail. Just want to know if the drive is the problem or is it something else?

What troubleshooting steps do you suggest?

I only know of the following:

-Try a different IDE cable
-Try the drive in another PC

I think it might be the cable or the board. I put the drive in an enclosure and it reads perfectly.
