What would the best motherboard be for AMD PHENOM-tm HD 985 ZXAJ 4BGH-?
And what would be the optimum PC configuration with a budget of $550?

Welcome to the forum. Please fill out the Build Advice form in my signature. Is that the AMD Phenom X4 9850 processor? If so, I think it would be better to just spend a few more dollars and get a new, more modern processor instead.

Definitely: The Rana/Propus are a whole lot more cooler running, less power consuming and offer bigger OC headroom than previous gen Agena core Phenoms and their Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) can 'talk' to both DDR2 and DDR3 ^^
