my eVGA 780i SLI FTW board decided to x_X a few weeks ago which had led me to build the current computer (in sig) with the i7 3930k, rampage IV extreme... i sent in the 780i for RMA and i got a call from one of the RMA reps... here are the options he had gave me
- Wait (they are currently out of 780i's)
- 790i (rather not ... pretty much same as 780i i think.. iunoe what was changed aside from the different memory)
- x58 motherboard
- p67 motherboard
i would love to get a x58 considering i have some 1366 processors laying around BUT... here's my problem.. i had a few drives that were in RAID 0 under the 780i board... i NEED to recover that information...
so i want to get an upgrade but i need to figure a way to recover the data
people have told me the older 680i chipset had teh same raid controller ...
i currently have the raided drives plugged into a asus striker extreme board that pretty much has the 680i chipset. ive tried booting up the latest version oh ubuntu cuz ive read in some place on here that ubuntu automatically detects and sets up the array... but it didnt show up. when i go into home, no "filesystems" show up under devices on the left. which is where i'd assume it would show up.
im pretty sure the array was a raid 0 array with 3 drives.. but due to my lazyness and the lack of a better controller.. i had plugged in 4 but it used 3.. (i think) but ive tried various combinations and it still doesnt show up?
