My next big upgrade:
Upgrading the CPU, then later on, I will be probably crossfiring the 5850, so the PSU also. But this is a span of about 3 years.

I've been thinking about this for about 2-3 weeks now. I've been trying to decide whether to go Rana X3 440/5850 or Phenom II X4 955/5770. And I think i'm going to go with the Rana/5850.

Opinions?

Looks good to me. You'll get more out of the X3 with a better video card than with the 955/5770 combo, good call

Also, is it possible for me to unlock the X3 into a X4? If so, whats the probability of it happening?

Yes, it is possible, but there isn't really a percentage we can give you, unfortunately.
