More about first build advice buying parts tomorrow
  1. Looks pretty good. Here's a few changes I might make though.

First, make sure you are getting this revision of the X4 955
    AMD Phenom II X4 955 -$160-

Then consider this RAM with tighter timings
    G.Skill Ripjaws -$116-

    Consider a 5750 instead of the 9800
    XFX Radeon HD 5750 -$130-

For overclocking, you may want to add in this HSF
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus -$27-
  2. Honestly i dun think u even need a 955BE seeing u have little to nil CPU intensive tasks outside games so why not

    AthlonII X3 440
870/880G mobo with native SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0
and ya that HD 5750 is a good call but for green camp you'd be looking at GTS 250 not 9800GTX+ : a refresh/rebrand but a wee bit more frames and considerably less power consuming
  3. ^ Agree.
  4. Although WOW does use the CPU to render characters on the screen
