Hello,
i want to buy graphics card, which should i buy "nvidia gtx 260" or "ATI 5770".
i am nvidia supportor but i want extreme gaming. so which is best.

My computer specifications are:
Intel core 2 quad Q8200
3gb RAM DDR2
Motherboard DG43NB
PSU 400Watt(i may upgrade it)

That would be an overkill! The GTX 260 runs on 500watt PSU. If you are dead set on GTX260 which is a good card that performs about 1% better than the HD5770 http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/HD_5830_Twin_Frozr_II/29.html but last time I checked you pay about $200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%20106792634%201067940781&name=GeForce%20GTX%20260 versus about $150 for the HD5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%20106793261%201067950041&name=Radeon%20HD%205770
So 1% performance gain = about $50

The 260 is about 10% faster as is the 4870 .... but the 260 has risen in price over the last 6 months from $155 to $215. At $155 it's a no brainer...at $215, overpriced.

The value of the 5770 in particular is clearly not going to be in its performance. Compared to AMD’s 4870, it loses well more than it wins, and if we throw out Far Cry 2, it’s around 10% slower overall. It also spends most of its time losing to NVIDIA’s GTX 260, which unfortunately the 4870 didn’t have so much trouble with..

I'll pay 20% more for a 10% performance increase but I won't pay 33%....I'd buy the 5770....assuming of course you are committed to 1650 x 1050 gaming for the life of the card. At 1920 res, the entry point is the 5850 / 470 . Both have a "dollars per frame" cost of about $9.00

Jack your quoting an article thats 6 months old : /

Like rolli59 said, drivers have improved the HD5770's performance to 4870/260 speeds.

@haseebbutt10 A GTX260/HD5770 will play those games fairly well on med/high settings depending on your resolution.

As the HD5770 is so much cheaper than the GTX260 and offers better features it makes sense to go for the 5770

get it if your res is 1680x1050

The GTX260 is more powerful in gaming requires a minimum of 500W psu.and doesnt have DX11 or Eyefinity.

HD5770 is a little less powerful even after new drivers but takes less power and also offers more features

you should go for 5770 as it offers more features and it is cheaper than a GTX260
