I'm looking to do a mild overclock with my new upgrades, being a MSI GD70 AM3 mobo and a Phenom 955be 3.2ghz quad.

The site I'm looking at is out of the fan I wanted, the CM Hyper 212 plus. I'm considering these as a replacement, any input? Just fyi, I plan A mild overclock of 3.5-3.8 on stock voltage.

$36 Zalman 7500cu - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118036

or

$45 Zalman CNPS10X Performa - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118059

Thanks for the feedback!

Hmm I think you should just wait for the Hyper 212 PLus to go back in stock. It's worth it in my opinion. On cold mornings I see idles of 24-25c (yes that's not a typo) and maybe 30-31 on warmer days. Never see more then 40-45 on full load regardless of the room temperature.

I would wait for the hyper 212, but today is payday and I have convinced my wife to let me buy this stuff today....(she has already agreed, I just fear that as more bills approach she might get nervous). We can easily afford it, but we are on a budget and this kind of stuff makes her uncomfortable.

So no one likes the fans I've listed huh? The sunbeam seems to have mixed reviews, especially the lack of PWM control. Other than that it looks pretty similar to the hyper 212. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Edit: Just realized the Sunbeam has no listed support for AM3 socket. Guess it isnt an option anyway, right?

last post on this one for me, so it is the majority consensus that the Hyper 212 plus is the best of all these options, keeping a ~$40 budget? Better than the zalmans, despite being much less $$$? Also, for a mild 3.5-3.8 overclock, would it be worth it to get some arctic silver 5?

Or the Dark Knights better looking looking chrome silver counterpart, the Xigmatek Balder SD1283 (the Dark Knight is S1283V, btw). For a red case like the HAF I would be tempted to get the Red Scorpion RS1283.

Or get a Scythe Mugen 2 if they are in stock.

The Xigmateks all beat the hyper 212 byt a degree or two in the testing Ive seen, but at half the price the hyper 212 is the price/performance leader.
