Effect on games going from 4GB to 3GB?

I have been playing around with RAM disks lately. Using them for temp files, cache, ect. Can anyone tell me if I am hurting my gameplay by doing this? Does it affects games when I go from 4GB of RAM to 3GB? How much?

System:
i7 860 @ 3.2Ghz
4GB @ 1450Mhz CL7
XFX 6970 2GB
Gigabyte P55A-UD3

Games:
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
L4D2
GTA IV
Crysis Warhead
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat

32bit or 64bit OS?

You would see some slow down but with out benchmarking it I can not say how much, you could try that yourself.

That's a good idea. I will try benchmarking. I wish BF:BC2 had a benchmark. What games would you expect to slow? In what way? How much? Would 3.5GB be significantly better than 3GB?
