Is this motherboard still available? I was hoping to write a review about how poor ASUS customer service is on this board. I cant even search it on Newegg :(

Grr that sucks :(

Have they announced how it will work? Will I have to RMA my MOBO now or wait until they tell me to? I have so many questions; just want to make sure I dont get screwed out of sending my stuff back

Well thanks for the Headsup, it would be nice if they would hurry and tell us how it's going to work. I was going to RMA my board because of a PS/2 Mouse/Keyboard issue I have been having. Now idk if I should RMA it now or wait until I HAVE to RMA it lol.

It doesn't sound like an issue that will render your PC unusable, I wouldn't panic. It's not like the chipset is going to catch in fire or anything, their basically saying a SATA port could crap out after a while

Don't get me wrong :) I'm not freaking out or anything, I was just about to RMA my board for a previous issue, but if they give a Free RMA later for a new board, I will just wait.

Last i checked, SATA ports dying tend to render a PC unusable, unless you want to add a PCIe / PCI SATA card.

Agreed...it's only the SATA 3Gbs ports - Anandtech has a great article detailing it and why it is happening. I haven't heard word yet about the RMA process, but it is still really new - only a day or so old at this point.

Here's a link I posted with newegg's stated policy on the Sandy Bridge chipset recall. They RMA'd (full refund) my Asus P67 mobo without any question and, when I asked for a supervisor, my core i5 2400s CPU as well.
