No HD? After installing windows 7

Hello,

For about a year now I have been using a DVI<--HDMI converter to hook up my PC (2x4850s) to my HD tv at 1920x1080. It was awesome, apart from the fact i was running vista.
Yesterday I installed windows 7 the intilation went smoothly ect. but i can no longer get a 1920x1080 resolution, every time i attempt this the screen pops up 'no support'. the highest at the moment is 1690x1050. Also i cant seem to get the system to regocnise that it is a HDMI connection and can't get sound anymore through my TV.

(as a note i can't seem to get my games above 30fps even though the screen is set at 60fps)

First of all, unless you use a second cable, you can't get audio through your HDMI cable because you're using an adapter.
Also, a cap of 30fps usually means vsync is on.
