New 1 TB WD green WD10EARX freezes my computer

Hey guyz..


I have just recently bought a WD green 1TB hard drive (WD10EARX) after installing it ,i see some lag in my computer after a 20-40 mins of playing games or watching movies my whole system freezes no .exe files open from my desktop not even control panel nothing.. though I use this new drive just for storage of movies and games.

I have searched threads about this problem but none of them works (power save settings too )
Could you tell what problem is , why does my computer hangs just because of the hdrive

My specs :
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
8gb ram ddr3
Ati hd6770
primary hd 500gb seagate
MB55gd65
Intel i5 @2.67Ghz

I have seen a similar problem with a failing drive (new one) and eventually it just stopped working. I would check on RMA.

I did a WD test ..small test and even long test which took 3hrs and came out as just fine .
I heard that the problem may be related to spinning down of hard drive as WD green is power efficient,
any solutions?

Something is wrong as you describe it, I do not know of any tweaks that will fix it and HDD's should simply work and not cause any issues.
