I am completely new to this forum, anytime I needed advice I looked here, so I figured this was the rigt place to go ;)

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: None

BUDGET RANGE: $1300 - $1400

SYSTEM USAGE: Gaming, surfing the net, photoshopping. Mostly gaming and surfing.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: www.edbpriser.dk COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Denmark

OVERCLOCKING: Never have done before, but will probably look into it.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1900 x 1080 Samsung PX2370

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I am a complete amateur at purchasing and building a computer, so I need advice. I have spent quite some time looking around on the internet, yet I feel lost. I DO NOT know how to put together a computer, is this something I will be able to figure out by trying and by following a guide, I am not stupid, therefore not a hopeless case at all. I am almost on bare bottom, still not knowing whether to choose AMD over Intel or other way around. Looking to make the most of my money and still be able to run games on highest possible quality for the money.

PLEASE NOTE: Things are a bit more expensive in Denmark than in USA, a noticeable difference.

I HAVE ALL PARTS NEEDED, I only need the computer/ all the parts. I have OS, keyboard, mouse, monitor, headset, everything needed.

I'm sure you'll get some answers here, but I suggest you read over the stickies as well, I found them pretty informative.

I have been :=)

They are very useful, yet I think I will need someone to look at what I have to work with, because when I look at a processor spec and then see the price, I can't tell if that's cheap or not and so on.

Welcome to the forums!
You should try viewing video guides. They can help much more than some written guide.
Alright, here are my recommendations:
-CPU: i5 750
-Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E
- RAM:G.Skill F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM
-Graphics Card: Gigabyte HD5770 1GB
-Hard Drive: Samsung 1TB SATA
-DVD Burner: Pioneer - DVR-118LBK
-Power Supply: Corsair Micro 550W

As you noticed, I have not given a case, you should choose that yourself. Just remember to choose an ATX Case, as this is the correct size for your motherboard.
Remember, if you cannot find the exact parts, improvise with similar parts. Oh, and the total cost of this system is around $1100 USD.
Good Luck!

Thank you guys so much for taking you time to look in to this for me, this is greatly appreciated and surely will help me build a computer! :)

EDIT:

http://pcnordic.dk/index.php/Xtreme-Gaming-PC/PCNX4965-1-Phenom-II-X4-965-34GHz-/-4GB-/-500GB-/-DVD-RW-/-HD58.html

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4-965 4x3,4Ghz

Cooler: AMD Box cooler design with Heat Pibes

MOBO: Asrock M3N78D Bundkort

Ram: 2x2GB PC10600 1333Mhz DDR3 Ram

HDD: 500GB 7200 RPM 16mb Sata2

Drev: 22x +/-RW DVD Brænder

GFX: Ati Radeon HD5850 1024mb GDDR5

PSU: FH Power 600w Low Noise 12-18DB Gaming PSU

Kabinet: Plazir P-Solid-BL

NO OS ( I have one )

This is a complete PC which I discovered. I don't know if that's a good price, and I am a bit sceptic to the motherboard which is a cheaper model. Is this good value for 6000 dkr = 1000 USD?

Available is also an upgrade which brings me:

GFX: Ati Radeon HD5870 1024mb GDDR5

PSU: FH Power 600w Low Noise 12-18DB Gaming PSU

Kabinet: Plazir P-Solid-BL

NO OS included. (I posses one, so good for me ;) )

Price: 6800 dkr = 1150 USD

They also have other pcs, if they are good value for the money, then I would go for one of these, so if they are, which one? ;)

dont get the 965...it's a factory overclocked model that is a waste of money...get the 955 and do it yourself. i personally like ASUS motherboards. for your HD, try to get one with 32mb of cache. WD Caviar black are nice models.
otherwise, looks good

You'll want the second set of RAM (2x2), triple channel is for socket 1366 i7 builds. Looks pretty nice other than that. For the case maybe look up these: Antec 300 Illusion, Cooler Master RC-690, Cooler Master Storm Scout, Antec 900, Cooler Master HAF 922, Antec 902, Lian Li Lancool PC-K62.

I really appreciate all the help I have gotten. Thanks a lot!
Gonna go with the Cooler Master HAF 922, think it looks pretty nice.
I will be sure to report back when I have finished building and completed the machine, ordering all the parts today, so will be a bit of time ;)

Cheers, LeBIE
