What card for SSD RAID5?

I have not built a machine for six years and am starting my research now so I can get a nice new desktop for the family this christmas.The question I am facing down at the moment is would it be cheaper to RAID5 4 128 gig SSD for an ~512 gig drive or just buy one 512 gig? What do i have to look for in a RAID controller? Will any RAID card
work with SSD or does it have to be special? what are the key words?

Personally I would just go with a single drive instead of raid. firmwares on ssd can be finicky and may cause you grief on a raid array, also you will not have TRIM functionality on the SSD while they are in raid.
