BSOD after installing new memory PLEASE HELP

I am having a BSOD (Blue screen of Death) crashes with the stop code: Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ever since I installed my new memory.

Heres a link to the stop codes: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/43519-windows-xp-blue-screen-of-death-stop-codes/

The new memory I am installing is Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin , 4 sticks of it so it comes to 16 gigabytes. Thats 16 gbs of DDR3 1600 memory. The old memory is 2 GBs of DDR3 1333

Heres a link to the memory I am installing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220569

I recently just put the old memory back in to see if I would still have any BSOD crashes and it seems that I am not having anymore crashes. I was hoping that my problem is that my powersupply isn't supplying enough power with the new memory installed so all I would have to do is buy a bigger powersupply and not send the new memory back to newegg.com

Heres my current build:

ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185142

So the question is what do I need to do to my computer to make it work with the new memory? Is it the powersupply that is causing the BSOD crashes? I did a memory diagnostic test with the new memory installed and there were no errors. Do I have to change any settings in the BIOS? What do I have to do to make the new memory work?

Try booting the system with one DIMM in slot 1. If the system boots, go into BIOS and set the timings and voltage to the RAM maker's specifications. You may bump up the voltage from 1.5v to 1.6v when using 4 DIMMs. After setting up the RAM properly install the remaining RAM.

I installed just one stick of the DDR3 1600 ram (4 gigs) into ram slot #1 and it works fine. I didn't adjust any settings in the bios. So with 1 stick it works but with 4 sticks it BSOD crashes. Is this a power supply issue? I am having trouble getting into the bios with my motherboard. There is no option at startup to hit a certain button to enter the bios. Does anyone know why there is no option to enter bios at startup?

Boot the system and keep tapping or hold down the delete key for BIOS.

In BIOS set the speed, timing and voltage to the RAM specifications. With 4 DIMMs perhaps increase the voltage a notch. Set the CAS LAT to 9 as specified.

Not familiar with your MB, but you may check the download page for a BIOS that address any issue regarding 4 DIMMs or 16GB.

Here is your MB's QVL (qualified vendor list) of RAM tested to work on the board. For 4 GB DIMMs I see only a Kingston DIMM and a Samsung DIMM tested to work on the board. You might send patriot support an email and ask if the RAM is tested on your board.

In the little manual that came with the memory it says that the timings should be

tCL = 2
tRCD = 3
tRP= 2
tRAS = 5

but the lowest I can go in my bios is

CAS - 4
TRCD - 5
TRP - 5
TRAS - 15

so whats the deal? I don't understand why it is telling me 2,3,2,5 when the lowest I can go is 4,5,5,15

The CAS LAT set to 9 is the most important. With 16GB 9-12-12 should be workable as far as workable timings go. Perhaps bump the RAM voltage to 1.6v for that amount of RAM. Patriot support may have suggestions also should you shoot them an email.

Not sure what the manual is stating.
