Upgrade to i3 or q8300?

Hi im thinking of upgrading my slow dual core to either a i3 or q8300, also im thinking of upgrading gpu to a gtx 470 and i don't want any bottlenecks, which one should i buy? tnx

I would need to know what are the specs of you computer before i can give you a straight answer. But from my knowledge the i3 sockets requires socket 1156 or 1366 and its only 3 cores while q8300 is a quad core for socket 775 motherboard.

perhaps you should know the specs of the CPU

the i3 is a dual core with 4 threads (virtual cores). it uses the 1156 socket and would be the better of the two options

I was off 1 core for i3 cores but if his motherboard is only a socket 775 he will need to upgrade either his motherboard or motherboard and ram. It all depends on his system or if he is going to build a new system.

if you dont want help dont ask for helm.. search it on the internet just like everyone else on here.. and for your information yes new sockets is alway better to buy then older sockets that is dieing breed.
