You might need to be a little more specific.
There are several I3s out there. Looks like they're all dual-core:

...they have different cache-sizes, and operating speeds.
All I can say is cual-cores have two processors on a single die. the I3 is one example of a dual-core. The term dual-core is a more general term, whereas the i3-3210 (for example), is 1 dual-core chip.
