RAID two hard drives in AHCI Tags: NAS / RAID Hard Drives Storage Last response: July 1, 2012 2:25 PM in Storage Share attacus July 1, 2012 1:28:44 PM I have two hard drives I want to RAID. From what I've read RAID only works when SATA is configured as IDE. However, if I do that won't I lose the benefits my SSD gets from being in AHCI? Is there a workaround this and is the tradeoff worth it? AHCI is a subset of RAID and with a single SSD RAID will be the same as using AHCI. You could also just use software RAID in Windows disk management: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/36504/how-to-create-a-so... unksol a b G Storage July 1, 2012 2:25:56 PM ^this. you can't set IDE in the BIOS and use raid. you have to actually set it to raid, which includes the AHCI commands Can't find your answer ?
