Xcopy malfunction

Hello,
The xcopy cmd with the /d (for date) parameter does not work properly. When I include the /d parameter and do NOT put a date along with it, the comd should copy only NEWER files into the destiniation directory. Instead, every file is copied, even those with the SAME date.
