Where can i take my external hardware to get files off it

Hello,
I made a movie using MS Movie maker (XP version) and my computer's motherboard died before I could burn it(I tried several times to burn it, but the file was really big, the movie is 2 hours long). I took my computer to get looked at and they backed up all my files to an external hard drive. Now I need to know how to get the movie burned. Should I get help from a computer store?
