Based on the online currency calculator, it's approx. US$318 and CA$329.

Gotta be honest with you, with that budget, your expectations are way too high. The cheapest 1680 x 1050 monitor itself is already around US$200.

US$318 can only give you a "good enough" AMD setup or lousy intel one.

Rough estimation (without the monitor):

Cheapest AMD Athlon II dual core $60
740 chipset series motherboard $45
512MB HD4650 $45
Case (any will do) $25
400W decent PSU (just like mine) $45
500GB HDD $55
2GB DDR2 RAM $45

Total: $320

That's the average pricing here in Indonesia, I don't know about India. Just hope it's cheaper there.

You won't wanna know the intel estimation, it's so pathetic I can't type it down.

My advice, save some more money if you want to have a setup that meets your expectations. It's probably gonna be around US$1000, more than 3 times your current budget. But if your happy with my setup suggestion above, you'll only need to buy the monitor for around $200. The total budget is about half of your "dream rig" budget.

Kind of difficult to fit everything in to 15000 INR.

Quad Cores would be really nice for your photoshop work!

Core i3 which is dual core costs something around 6k and the motherboard another 5k, now that leaves nothing for the rest of the parts. If you want a swanky GPU then you have to up your budget by at least a minimum of 10000 INR. Also if you already have a monitor then its fine, but if you still haven't got it, then add another 8k to 10k to that.

Your recommendation is even higher than mine, which means: way above the budget. But as fellow countrymen, I assume you're familiar with the pricing in your country. Is it cheaper than that of Indonesia's?

huh just go with Intel core2duo E7500..it fits in to ur budget... but with 2 GB of RAM. but honestly u will need a Quad core for the work u mention above specially video editing and photoshop.....

This would barely fit the 15000 INr mark. Its something around the 16.5k region. Well from dollars to rupees it wont be an exact match. So with 15k its possible to get something around $370 - $400 worth of goods. Let me dig up the prices.

The thing is those damn DDR2 RAM's are becoming obsolete and are costing as much as the DDR3's. But DDR3 mobo's are expensive. See the complication! :heink:

ya and the more worst thing is people still uses DDR 1 rams and those r costing even more than DDR 3 .....lol....... :D

X3 435 - 3.5k.
4GB RAM - 4.5k.
785G mobo from Gigabyte costs 4.5k.
500GB WD Caviar Blue - 2.5k.
Sorry can fit the GPU and the rest in there.

The tri cores and dual cores from AMD have hardly any price difference!

E7500 is from Intel. and the proccy+mobo combination would alone cost him a hefty chunk of that 15k.

not at all, he just need to get a G41 mobo from asus.. and with that E7500 the combo would be in 8200/- only... 2 GB DDR 2 will cost 2100/- and HDD 500 GB will be 2500... so without GPU the whole machine will cost 12800 /- only

That's the very situation we're also facing here. The price monopoly forced customers to buy the DDR3 with a higher price tag. That's just not fair!
