New HDD, Old Restore Point?

restore points can only restore a drive with windows running to a previous state. I think what you are looking for is something like Clonezilla where you can clone all the data from one drive to another.

So it's not possible to install Windows on a new hard drive, and use that restore point, after windows is installed?
I can't access my old hdd at all, so I guess I'm out of luck...

What SSD would you recommend? My local PC store suggested an Intel.

I'm going to RMA my original one, but I considering purchasing another SSD that may be more dependable.

Thanks again
