Okay lets start on with my friend's strange problem, it seems to be a processor issue as the thing that is causing problems is the processor.

His motherboard is nForce 630i/ Geforce 7100, an intel celeron processor which he doesn't know the model of and the new processor that is causing the problem is the core 2 quad Q8300.

He just put the Q8300 and turn on the PC, boot windows and couldn't have access to the internet, whether using onboard ethernet LAN adapter or a wireless adapter.

If he switched the processor back to the celeron, everything goes fine.

He did everything possible, checked BIOS, reinstalled windows trying with XP and 7, installed drivers but the problem still persits.

One more thing, he used to have BSOD continuously but that stopped occurring after changing the RAM slot.

So, any suggestions?

It is fine after he installed a new BIOS, which I told him to install.
After he installed it he told me that the BIOS still said the one installed is the old one.

At last it appeared that he burned the WRONG BIOS file!

Anyway thanks, Prince of Persia lover :p
