Capture from HDMI on ATI 5800

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5800.
I'd like to force capture from the HDMI port.
I have Windows 7, is there a way to do this.
If you have an answer with Linux, I'm open to hearing it too.

  1. I believe you will need a video capture card unless there is a software program able to take advantage of the 5800 series cards, but I am unaware of any.
  2. Thanks zalittle.
I can think of how it might be done on Linux, but I'd need to know the device name of the HDMI port on the video card, so I could route the video from it to a file.

This would be a cheap easy work around, and might work with msys, or cygwin. I'm not sure though.
  3. I'm going to just be straight.
Does anyone know the name of the device input for HDMI of an ATI Radeon HD 5800 in Linux?
