Q6600 msi p35 neo 4gb ram bottleneck 5850

Hello everyone,

I currently have this rig:
q6600 @ 2.4 (stock)
msi p35 neo
corsair 4gb ram
his x1900xtx

and I have a 24" monitor resolution: 1920x1080.

I was reading a lot about a q6600 being a bottleneck for a hd5850 or not and I don't get any wiser, because some people say yes it is a bottleneck and others say no it isn't. Maybe one of you can explain me why it will or won't be a bottleneck??

Thank you in advance

It really depends on the game you are running. Since some games are more GPU dependent and others CPU dependent it really depends. To make sure your machine is operating at top efficiency try to configure you system for maximum performance and turn off what you dont use to free up system resources.

With a MSI board it should be fairly easy to overclock that CPU to eliminate any bottleneck with HD5850.

Ok thank you guys for the quick replies.

I will definately look at the link and I will consider an overclock.
I have absolutely no experience with overclocking, but google will guide me ;)
