Hello, I have a 1.5 G hard drive that is just over one year old. Windows reports failure is imminent. Ran chkdsk and says all is OK. I can replace the hard drive but how do I know it isn't another error causing the problem?

Contact the manufacturer's tech support regarding that specific problem. See what they say about it. If you still have warranty, they can replace it.
I answered you last time you posted this. Chkdsk only checks the filesystem for errors, it does not check the entire disk. If Windows is telling you that failure is imminent you can get a second opinion from Crystal Disk Info
