New ATI Radeon Cards?

Hi, I was just curious if anyone knew when a new set of DX11 Radeon cards might be coming out?

As far as I know the most recent cards were released in February(5830, and 55xx/54xx) and I really have no interest in getting those.

I was considering getting 5770 in the near future considering it's a solid, inexpensive DX11 card that is great for crossfire if I decide to get a second one.

BUT, if there is a new line of DX11 cards coming out I may just wait to see the new cards instead of buying a 5770.

I'd appreciate it if anyone had any info on when the new cards may come out!

Yea that's what I figured seeing as the 57xx/58xx/59xx series were all released last fall.

They'll probably keep quiet about it so people continue to buy the current cards and then catch us off guard so we all want the newest ones again.

We might see a HD5890 come out earlier to combat the GTX4xx, who knows.

If I were you, I would buy a 5850 instead, hug it tight, and be happy with it for a long time.

Is that 1920x1080 or 1680x1050?

Alright guys thanks for all the advice, but hear me out please

Trust me, I'd love to get a 5850, but I can't really afford one right now.
The 5770 is at such a good price ($170) and when the time comes I can get another one and throw em' in crossfire. And according to our dear website the performance of 5770's in crossfire rivals that of a 5870!!! Don't believe me?

So for $50 dollars less I should (according to that ^) be getting similar performance to the beastly 5870.

I'd say go for it. That setup would be scalable for you and your current budget.

Well, I will say the i5 is a good choice :lol:

Though for gaming, no harm in going AMD either.
