When the original 20GB drive in our Toshiba notebook died (out of
warranty), I replaced it by a 60GB one, but now that one is dying after
less than a year. I have an RMA to send the drive back to Toshiba, but
I'm wondering whether it might be an idea to sell the
repaired/replacement drive and get another brand in its place.
Any ideas?

I haven't had any problems with Toshiba drive reliability, but I've also
used Hitachi Travelstar drives and in my experience, they are quieter
and cooler. They have a 60-gig 7200 RPM, an 80-gig 5400 RPM, and
recentlay announced a 100-gig 5400 RPM.
