APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: I could probably wait few months if it would save a lot of money.

BUDGET RANGE: USD $150-300, maybe more...

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: I'd like to be able to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on ultra settings with about 60 fps, but I suppose I could live with a little less in both areas if this requires too much money. :/

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB and Corsair 750TX 750W PSU

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz (can overlock to 3.2GHz if it would be useful)
NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI FTW
G.SKILL HK 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: I've always used Nvidia cards, but it probably doesn't matter.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe (I don't think 2x 9800 GTX+ will be good enough)

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Basically, I want to be able to play BC2 very well. Will I be able to just upgrade my video card significantly to make this happen? Would I be better off selling my computer and building an entire new one with an i7 or something?

You'll want a 1GB + Card.

I'd just grab an HD5850. The Asus DirectCore edition is up to 20% cooler, and sports its own voltage software. This will allow you you to overclock to surpass the HD5870, and keep temps reasonable. It only costs $320.

As said above the 5850 is the best match for your system. It's your only option so do it! :)
