I just put together this build:

1 x ($104.99) MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL $104.99

1 x ($114.99) SSD 60G|OCZ OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G R $114.99

1 x ($64.99) HD 1T|SEAGATE 7K ST31000528AS OEM - OEM $64.99

1 x ($99.98) CASE CM|RC-922M-KKN1-GP BK RT $99.98

1 x ($109.99) PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-750TX 750W RT $109.99

1 x ($18.99) DVD BRN ASUS | DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS% - OEM $18.99

I installed all the drivers, Win7 and Office 2010. Everything was working great. I hooked up to the internet using the onboard network port and downloaded all of the Win7 updates. After they finished installing, my network adapter was gone. As in it doesn't appear in device manager. In the BIOS setup it is enabled. If I try to reinstall drivers it doesn't finish because it can't find it.

Any ideas on how to get it back?

Thanks.

I think there may be a simpler solution. The error message when installing the driver is ""The Realtek Network Controller was not found.
If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." I've found some posts where people had the same issue. Some said that taking out the RAM and reseting the BIOS caused it to come back on. I tried that but it still can't find it. Just seems odd that it would be working fine, I apply the updates, and then it's gone. Seems like a software issue rather than a hardware issue.

No one else has seen a similar issue?

Hello, I own the same motherboard and this problem isn't unheard of. I encountered the same problem but I had a wireless network. Anyways my problem was caused due to my BIOS being updated to 1.50 and now I'm currently running at BIOS 1.30 and it works fine for me. The BIOS download page is here: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P67%20Extreme4&o=BIOS . Another problem other users have is windows installing a driver name somewhere along the lines of "Storage" and it's said to cause many issues as well. Hope I have helped. :)

Thanks. My BIOS is still 1.30. Think if I download 1.50 it will fix the issue? Any danger and updating it?

Any ideas how to find the Windwows driver that could be causing the conflict?

Thanks.

I think I have confused you let me simplify myself, BIOS 1.50 was what caused my network connection to not work. When I changed my BIOS to 1.30 it did work. To find the windows drivers (if you actually have it that is) go to control panel>Programs and feature(where you uninstall programs)>view installed updates(top left hand side.)

No, I understood. Just wondering if anyone thinks upgrading the BIOS would work.

So how do I find the one you guys are talking about? Anyone know the exact name or how to go about searching for it?

I had the same problem. Unplug your ethernet cable and go to Device Manager > Storage > and disable and uninstall ACS-6xxxx. Then restart.

This is the details of the Windows update that caused the problem:

Accusys Inc. - Storage - ACS-6xxxx

Installation date: ‎2/‎15/‎2011 2:27 PM

Installation status: Successful

Update type: Optional

Accusys Inc. Storage software update released in June, 2010

Thanks. I did this and it works. Make sure you check the box that says "delete driver" otherwise it will attempt to reinstall on your next reboot.
