I'm looking for an external hard drive to use for archiving off audio/video files from my desktop Win 7 machine that I can hook directly up to my Patriot Box Office media player via USB 2.0. The Patriot has a 2 TB limit so that's the size drive I'm looking for.
My desktop computer has an ASUS Striker Extreme mobo with eSATA connector (the 3 Gbps version whatever that's called) and so I'd like a 2 TB external drive with at least USB 2.0 (would like USB 3.0 but that may be asking too much for one drive) and eSata connectability.
Much googling has led often to such drives as a variety of Fantom models and a few LaCie models but investigation into user reviews seem to often come up with problems with these drives concerning their use when connected by eSATA. I welcome any recommendation, suggestions or discussion for drives to fit my requirements, thanks.
