MSI R5770 Hawk Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

now this is definitely a decent card, however, it can only be hooked up to 1 monitor and not two :(

was wondering if anyone could suggest an equivalent graphic card that can support 2 monitors?

my base system will be:

intel i7 core 930

MSI X58 Pro-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
3-Way SLI, CFX ready, EZOC + True Blu-ray audio

Cooler Master HAF932 High Air Flow Full Tower

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

and maybe 4 gigs of ram

You can connect up to 3 monitors to that card, the card has

1 x HDMI Port
1 x Display Port
1 x DVI Port

You can easily hook that up to 2 DVI monitors using a simple HDMI-DVI adapter. You can do 3 if you have a Displayport Monitor, or get an active Displayport to DVI adapter. Thats a great card, and all you have to do is get your hands on an HDMI-DVI adapter and it'll do all you want.

ah sweet. yeah i figured that out too hehe. i do have one 22inch widescreenthat is hdmi ready. i just never used it. (it's a passdown from my brother so i dont even have the hdmi cable)

but yeah, this card would certainly work. i could just get an hdmi cable. hook up this widescreen to the computer, and then hook up the 19inch to the traditional port (the big blue port)

:D

is there benefit in hooking a monitor using hdmi? better quality imaging ? or not really?

the only real benefit is if the HDMI monitor has built in speakers, the 5770 will bitstream the audio to it, so you'll get audio from the monitor speakers without having to plug in the audio cable to your PC.

I got a better/more vivid picture when running hdmi vs dvi->vga adapter. I also had overscan issues. Nothing that couldn't be correct with a few tweaks though. Don't buy any monster or super expensive hdmi cables. Digital signals are not susceptible to noise like analog. get the cheapest hdmi you can find.

THIS GRAPHIC CARD SAYS PCI Express 2.1... BUT THE MOTHERBOARD I SELECED SAYS 3 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (operates at 16x/16x/4x)

ONE IS 2.0 ONE IS 2.1 .. does this mean they are not compatible or something? help!!!
