I recently upgraded my computer with new parts (i5 3570k / ga-z77x-d3h) and a 128GB ScanDisk SSD which I installed Win7 on.
My old HDD, which was my Win7 HDD in the previous build, has all my games and programs on it. I figured that there was no real reason to move all the Steam games etc to the SSD not to clutter it up the 100-or-so GB of space. To my surprise, games running of my old HDD (i.e. Diablo 3 and Skyrim) cause stuttering (rapid framerate drops for a second or two), while this does not occur if I move them to the SSD. It might be noteworthy that I did not experience any stuttering on my old build with the same HDD.
Any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
