Hi.

I'm using windows 7 enterprise at work and recently on several computers remote desktop tab under system properties > remote is gone. was searching forums for this problem but found only answers that after removing service pack 1 remote tab was back, but then i have a question how come 95% of other computers don't have this problem and also tried installing fresh installations today on thinkpad edge 11 with sp1 and at the beginning remote tab was there but after installing anti virus , office and other crap and several resets remote tab was also gone? whats up with that? :heink:

It could be anything from not logging in as administrator on a domain, to the service not running.

Make sure these are set to automatic in services:

Workstation

Remote Procedure Call

Terminal Device Driver

Basically anything with "Remote Desktop " in it.

Edit: You will also need to make sure terminal services is started:

Find your command prompt or make a shortcut. Right click and run as administrator.

Now type in the command: net start termservice

so it would look like this:

C:\net start termservice

hi Chainzsaw
just now checked services for one of those computers
as for services:
workstation was started
there was no such a service as terminal device driver
started all services that contained remote
also started termservice but still no effect

also tried starting all services and still nothing

btw just a thought those computers that have this problem came with service pack 1 and those that are alright didn't.
