Hi ..I live out side the US and I preordered EVGA GTX 480 SC ($ 544) from amazon but it seems that it will take for ever to be INSTOCK... so i saw the galaxy geforce gtx 480 instock but with a higher price ..so iwas wondering:
1-should i buy it ? or wait for the evga?
2- Does it have a waranty?
3-is Galaxy a good brand ?

this is the link http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-GALAXY-GeForce-GTX480-80XL...

By the way I can not buy from other sites like newegg or directtiger because they do not accept international visa.... i only have amazon.....

Absolutely not worth it. That card is just the standard 480 with the MRSP of $499.99 but someone think they can jack the price up $180 because supply is short.

Now do you want to flat out pay $180 more? Since you already declined on the 5970 perhaps a pair of GTX 470? or your best bet is to just wait it out. Since a pair of GTX 470 would probably make your room temperature spike and you would be gaming in your underwear (been there before)

Did you know ATI supports third party 3D glasses. Don't know the details but if you didn't already purchase the Nvidia 3D stuff then you might want to look into it. Beats paying $680 for a product worth only $500.

3D Vision? Do you have a special 120hertz LCD and glasses that cost $2000+?

3D Vision is an expensive and immature technology. There's no point in getting it unless you have $$$ to blow...

Well its not 2K you could get this Monitor and glasses http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_GeForce_3D_VisionB...
and pair it with a GTX 470 that's 350

So the setup would be about 950 with a GPU. glasses and monitor

1) I have never used a galaxy but reviews I have read they seem to be sub par.
2) Does the op mean 3d vision with a home entertainment center or by setting up 3 monitors. If its the 3 monitors won't the op actually need to purchase 2 of the gpu's since they only have 2 monitor ports? or am I totally off.

On a side note I too am waiting for a gtx480, I wish they had some type of eta for the various sites I have been checking. I am tempted to go with the radeon due to availability even though I have had bad experiences with ATI in the past.
